MHPS sees success with ACT Boot Camp as students prep for Saturday test

As high school students prepare to take the ACT this Saturday, Mountain Home Public Schools (MHPS) has been busy this week preparing their students to perform their best.An ACT Boot Camp made possible by Personal Therapy Group in Mountain Home was held at the high school starting Wednesday with ACT literacy prep and Thursday saw a focus on ACT Math. The ACT test has undergone many changes from how past generations may remember the process. Major differences include the test being taken solely online and the science portion of the test now being optional.

Changes in admission for some colleges don’t require the test but Mountain Home High School Principal Mary Beth Russell says the ACT continues to be an important step as students shape their educational futures.

The efforts of educators to enable students for success in testing has led to other accomplishments including the school district recently receiving an B rating. Staff say they and the student body are not satisfied and are striving to achieve an A rating in the future. Faculty members says they all are working together to continue to make MHPS a place where students receive the best education to prepare them for their futures.
