
Mountain Home Christian Academy’s varsity volleyball team captured the Heartland Christian Athletic Association (HCAA) 2A Tri-State Championship for the second consecutive year, continuing their dominance among Christian school teams from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
The tournament took place Saturday, October 18, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with teams competing in bracket play after morning pool matches. MHCA went undefeated in bracket play, defeating Cornerstone 25-14, 25-23 in the first round, Family of Faith 25-13, 25-9 in the semifinals, and Gospel Light 25-21, 25-19 in the championship match to claim the title.
The team’s success was highlighted by standout performances from several players. Emma Ehlinger earned All-Tournament honors, while Ehlinger, Cheyanne Dewey, and Khloe Cotter were named to the All-Conference team. Cheyanne Dewey contributed 16 kills and 15 blocks, Marie Claire Robinson added 12 kills and 16 blocks, and Ehlinger recorded 25 kills and 21 digs. Sydelle Sebree tallied 22 kills, 32 digs, and 13 aces, while Kayden Wright had 32 assists, 12 kills, and 13 aces. Khloe Cotter also had a huge day with 26 assists, 16 kills, and 23 aces, and the team was further bolstered by solid performances from Karlee Decker, Grace Currier, and Addie Coughlan.
With this victory, Mountain Home Christian Academy solidifies its place as a powerhouse in the HCAA 2A Tri-State competition, winning back-to-back championships and showcasing the depth and talent of its roster.
