High School basketball: Lead Hill, Flippin, Valley Springs see action in season openers

High school basketball action tipped off across the Twin Lakes Area Monday night.Lead Hill traveled to Ozark Mountain, splitting the night. The Lady Tigers fell to Ozark Mountain 63-51 in girls’ action, while the Tigers came out firing in the boys’ game, jumping to a 26-6 first-quarter lead and cruising to a 70-52 victory.

Flippin opened its season on the road in Pangburn, taking down Mt. Vernon-Enola 71-65 to move to 1-0 on the year.

Valley Springs hosted Ozark Catholic and came up short, falling 67-50. The Griffins moved to 2-0 on the season.

At the Bobby D. Hulse Tournament in Norfork, Mammoth Spring rolled past Timbo 65-22 in senior girls’ action.

Tonight, the Norfork senior boys will take the court against Alpena at 7:45.
