Area football recap: Salem dominates, Yellville-Summit struggles continue

In Friday night football action:

It was senior night in Yellville, but the Panthers couldn’t slow down Melbourne. The Bearkatz rolled to a 61-21 win to even their record at 4-4, while Yellville-Summit drops to 0-8 on the year.

Salem continued its dominant run, staying perfect on the season with a 78-0 shutout of Mountain View. The Greyhounds move to 8-0 overall.

Harrison got back to .500 Friday night, blanking Vilonia 31-0 to improve to 4-4 on the season.

In Missouri action, West Plains edged Carl Junction 37-30 to move to 7-2. Ava put up big numbers, beating Willow Springs 77-36. Forsyth rolled past Buffalo 43-0, and Hollister took down Reeds Spring in a shootout, 56-42.

In the Arkansas Sports Media Top Ten,

No. 1 Bryant defeated Cabot 49-3.

No. 2 Bentonville took down No. 3 Rogers on Thursday, 31-28.

And No. 6 Joe T. Robinson got past Searcy 46-29.
