
The Cotter Lady Warriors came out swinging Wednesday afternoon, but the Taylor Lady Tigers roared back to take a 3-1 victory in the Class 2A state volleyball tournament.Cotter opened strong, claiming the first set 25-19. The Lady Warriors looked unstoppable early in the second, jumping to a commanding 20-5 lead, but Taylor refused to back down. The Lady Tigers caught fire from the service line, rattling off an incredible run to steal the set 26-24 and flip the momentum.Taylor carried that energy into the third and fourth sets, winning 25-19 and 25-17, using steady defense and timely hitting to keep Cotter on its heels.
Despite the loss, Cotter’s effort drew loud cheers family, friends and an electric student section. The Lady Warriors’ season ends with a 21-1 record after a strong showing at state.
