
Thursday night brought a full slate of high school basketball action across the region, with several area teams taking the court in early-season matchups.
The Flippin Lady Bobcats struggled on the road, falling to the Kingston Lady Yellowjackets 56-17.
Flippins varsity boys, however, had no trouble finding their rhythm. The Bobcats dominated Kingston 84-32, controlling the game from the opening tip.
In Cotter, the Warriors hosted the Bergman Panthers in a hard-fought boys contest. Despite a strong start from Cotter, Bergman proved too much down the stretch as the Panthers pulled away for a 64-48 victory.
Over in Western Grove, the Norfork Panthers faced a tough road test against the Ozark Mountain Bears. The Bears took control early and never looked back, handing Norfork a 67-34 loss in boys action.
The Lady Panthers of Norfork, however, salvaged a split on the night. In a tight back-and-forth battle, they came away with a 55-51 win over the Ozark Mountain Lady Bears.
