The 2025-26 Arkansas men’s basketball season officially tips off Monday night as the 14th-ranked Razorbacks host Southern University at Bud Walton Arena. Game time is set for 6 and will air on the SEC Network, with radio coverage provided by the Learfield Razorback Sports Network.
The matchup marks the beginning of the second season under head coach John Calipari, who enters his 34th year as a collegiate head coach. Calipari owns a 26-7 record in season openers and has won 22 straight home openers. Arkansas has been equally dominant to start seasons, posting an 83-19 all-time mark in openers and a 92-10 record in home debuts. The Razorbacks have not dropped a home opener in 51 years, a streak that began long before Bud Walton Arena opened its doors.
Arkansas is 3-0 all-time against Southern, including two wins inside Bud Walton Arena. The teams last met to open the 2015-16 season, an 86-68 Razorback victory.
Following Monday’s contest, Arkansas will hit the road for a top-25 showdown at Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 8. That game will be televised nationally on FOX with tipoff set for 6.
