Pinkston Middle School’s Outdoor Adventures program is partnering with the Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry Foundation and Mountain Home Bridges to help students in need as SNAP benefits face cuts.The program is asking hunters to donate harvested deer to support the initiative. Donated deer must be tagged, skinned, and quartered before being taken to the Meat Shop located at 1224 Commerce Drive in Mountain Home, where they will be processed and delivered to the school for distribution to families.
KTLO News spoke with Freddy Penka, the Outdoor Education teacher at Pinkston Middle School, who explains the details of the program.

The effort provides an opportunity for students to receive much-needed protein while fostering community involvement and awareness of outdoor skills. In addition to the donation drive, the Outdoor Adventures program took six students on a mentored deer hunt on Saturday, offering hands-on experience in hunting safety, conservation, and outdoor skills.
