
To assist students who may have lost access to food assistance programs due to the prolonged government shutdown, the Salvation Army in Mountain Home will launch a mobile food canteen at the college this week.Starting Thursday, students at Arkansas State University Mountain Home (ASUMH) can receive free food stocks on campus from the Salvation Army. The Major says that an increase in the needs of local students has prompted them to find unique ways to serve their neighbors.

The Salvation Army is partnered with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas who is providing the food items to share with those in need. Leadership at the Salvation Army is grateful to the college for their collaborative efforts to ensure those on campus can have their needs met and continue to focus on their education and to lessen the stress of those who are in need.
