
Visitors to the First Security Veterans Plaza 2000 in Mountain Home can now see new enhancements with the recent addition of the seals of the military branches to the center columns on the veterans wall.

During the annual Veteran’s Day ceremony Tuesday morning Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams unveiled the new emblems which were made possible by retired Lt. Col. Mary Walker. The structure now bears the insignia of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space.
During the mayor’s speech he shared the story that led to the reveal which began following last year’s ceremony.

The plaza celebrated its 25th anniversay on Tuesday and the mayor shared the history of the formation of the square after the removal of old infrastructure at the site in the late 1990s and how it has become an important and reverent place on the city square to honor those who have served their country.
