
Seventy-nine boats launched Saturday for the inaugural Baxter Health Bass Classic, where anglers from across the region competed for cash prizes and bragging rights.
Corey Cook of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Roger Cook of Lebanon, Missouri, claimed first place with a five-fish total of 13.52 pounds, earning the $4,000 top prize.

Todd and Matt St. Clair of Pyatt finished second with 13.15 pounds to take home $2,000, while Lynn Luther of Viola and Anthony Gates of Tuckerman placed third with 13.10 pounds, good for $1,000.
Chad Bleeker of Gamaliel and Bobbie Barnes finished fourth with 12.90 pounds to earn $500, and Denver Gulley of Mountain Home rounded out the top five with 12.78 pounds for $250.
The Big Bass of the tournament weighed in at 5.70 pounds and was caught by Tony Moser of Violet Hill and Randy Zeigler of Glencoe.
Raffle winners included Terry Cordum, who won a 2015 Factory Five 818 kit car; Dianna McKee, who took home a Spartan Shield zero-turn lawnmower; Becky Rose, who won a Tao Racing motorcycle; and Tami Barrow, who received a Ruger American Ranch rifle.
Proceeds from the Baxter Health Bass Classic help support community health initiatives throughout north central Arkansas.
