The North Central Board of Realtors recently partnered with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas to deliver nearly 40,000 pounds of food to pantries in Baxter and Marion counties and Calico Rock during this year’s “Feed Our Children” event.
More than 60 realtors and affiliate members helped load food onto trucks serving 18 area hunger-relief organizations. Organizers said the timing was critical, as local food pantries have faced record demand during and after the recent federal government shutdown.
Food Bank officials said the event exceeded expectations and helped ensure families across the region had access to food during a period of sharply increased need.
While SNAP benefits have since been restored, the Food Bank expects demand to remain high through the holiday season. Residents interested in supporting the organization can call 870-499-7565 or visit foodbanknca.org.
