The City of Mountain Home will hold a public hearing on Thursday at 4:55 in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 720 Hickory Street. The hearing will focus on a proposal to vacate a portion of 8th Street between Main Street and Hickory Street, a request being presented by Arnold Knox and Steve Hill.Immediately following the public hearing, the City Council will convene for its regular meeting.

During the meeting, council members will hear two zoning proposals presented by Ted Sanders. One would change an area currently zoned Residential R-1 to Residential R-3, while the other seeks to rezone property from Commercial C-3 to Residential R-2.

Fire Chief Kris Quick will request approval to sell and remove from the city’s inventory a 1999 GMC Midwest fire tanker and a 1985 Ford Pierce pumper.

Mayor Hillrey Adams will present an ordinance that would implement a yearly fee for the use of certain city-owned parking spaces. The measure would repeal two earlier ordinances from 2000 and 2019.

City Clerk Scott Liles will bring forward an amendment to the 2025 Mountain Home Billboard and Outdoor Advertising Structure Ordinance, clarifying how on-site signs are measured and including an emergency declaration.

The council will also take up an ordinance to officially vacate the section of 8th Street discussed in the earlier public hearing.

The public is invited to attend both the hearing and the regular meeting.
