
In the Arvest Bank Tournament boys’ consolation bracket in Flippin on Wednesday, Norfork pulled off the most dramatic win of the night, edging Marshall 57-56 on a buzzer beater. Trailing by one with under 10 seconds left, the Panthers pushed the ball the length of the floor with crisp passing before Luke Hott found it under the basket and scored as time expired.
Cotter rolled to a 62-30 victory over Kingston, and Alpena topped Timbo 60-52. Alpena advances to face Cotter on Thursday at 6:30 in the old gym.

In the Arvest Bank tournament, Yellville-Summit, off to a strong 3-0 start, gets a big test against 7-1 Jasper in the senior boys’ bracket at 8:30. Earlier in the day, Cotter’s senior girls open the tournament at 4 against Jasper. The Flippin senior boys follow at 5:30 when they meet Lead Hill, and Norfork’s senior girls will square off with Marshall at 7.
Outside the tournament, several senior boys’ teams hit the court. Mammoth Spring, now 5-3, hosts a solid Maynard squad that enters at 6-5. Calico Rock, winners of five of its first six, welcomes Concord, who sits at an even 5-5. Harrison (1-1) hosts Bentonville (0-1), while Rural Special (5-4) looks to stay above .500 at home against Nemo Vista (4-7). Valley Springs, trying to climb out of a tough 1-7 start, hosts unbeaten Berryville (2-0).
In senior girls’ play, Valley Springs (5-4) is home against Berryville. Lead Hill (4-5) hosts Kingston in the Arvest Bank consolation bracket. Salem, sitting at 2-2, welcomes Highland (1-1). Calico Rock (3-4) takes on Concord (1-10), and Mammoth Spring (5-3) hosts a strong Maynard team at 7-4.
Rural Special and Nemo Vista meet in a 6-4 showdown, while Harrison (3-0) puts its undefeated mark on the line at home against 2-0 Clinton. Norfork, cruising at 6-1, gets Marshall (0-2). Bay (1-3) travels to Riverside, which comes in red hot at 7-0. Buffalo Island Central (4-3) is also on the road, heading to Marmaduke (5-3).
