The Arkansas high school football playoffs resume Friday, and two area teams remain in the spotlight as Mountain Home and Salem look to extend their postseason runs.

Mountain Home hits the road for a Class 6A quarterfinal matchup at Benton. The Bombers enter at 9-2 after last week’s home playoff win, while Benton sits at 8-2 and is considered one of the toughest draws in the bracket. Kickoff is set for 7 as Mountain Home tries to reach the state semifinals for the second time in school history.

In Class 3A, Salem continues its unbeaten season with another marquee showdown. The Greyhounds, now 11-0, will host Newport in a battle of two of the most explosive offenses in the class. The Greyhounds’ defense has been one of the best statewide, and Newport comes in at 9-2 after surging through the back half of the season.

6A quarterfinals

Three other games make up the 6A slate Friday night.

Greenwood, still perfect at 10-0, will host Jonesboro (6-5) at Smith-Robinson Stadium. The Bulldogs remain the heavy favorite to come out of the bracket.

Shiloh Christian returns home to face El Dorado. The Saints are 8-2 in their first 6A postseason run and will try to hold off an athletic Wildcats squad looking to pull the upset.

Sylvan Hills rounds out the night, hosting Marion. The Bears, one of the surprise stories of 2025 at 9-1, will try to keep things rolling against a Marion team entering at 5-6.

7A quarterfinals

A full 7A slate also awaits Friday, with several unbeaten teams looking to advance.

Bentonville, a perfect 10-0, hosts Springdale (5-6). Bryant, also 10-0, welcomes Fayetteville (7-3) as the Hornets look to continue their run of playoff dominance.

Rogers, sitting at 9-1, will host Little Rock Christian, an 8-3 squad widely viewed as a dangerous road team. Bentonville West travels to Conway in the final matchup, with the Wolverines at 8-3 and Conway at 8-2.

Missouri playoffs

Across the state line, postseason action also continues.

West Plains faces a tough road test at Hannibal as the Zizzers try to keep their season alive in Class 4. Thayer will stay home for a Saturday afternoon matchup with Tipton. Kickoff is set for 1 as the Bobcats try to punch their ticket to the next round.
