An Ozark County teenager was electrocuted Friday morning while he was deer hunting with a friend in the Brixey-Rockbridge area. The name of the 16-year-old boy has not been released by Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin. Martin says the boy was a firefighter with the Brixey-Rockbridge Volunteer Fire Department.
The sheriff says the incident happened when the two boys encountered a sagging power line as they walked along the Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative power line easement.
Martin says the boy grabbed the line, not realizing it was energized. There was no cell service there, so the other boy rode an ATV to a location where he could call 911.
When first responders arrived, they found the victim dead.
