The LT Thrift Store at Mountain Home High School is in its busiest season yet, preparing Christmas gifts for 257 students in need, the most the school has ever served.
The student run thrift store, renamed in 2019 to honor the late Lucas Todd, accepts donations of clothing, hygiene products, food and household items year round. But each December it becomes something more, a place where students help students.

Service learners sort donations, wrap gifts and fill lists submitted by families. Many of those lists, administrators say, ask for necessities rather than luxuries.
KTLO News spoke stopped by the thrift store to speak with Coordinator Stephanie Caraway and High School Principal Mary Beth Russell, who give a reminder that even simple items can carry deep meaning.
Listen:
Caraway explains how they are able to, not only provide the gifts, but also get them all wrapped and ready for Christmas.
Listen:
Russell goes on to say that none of this would be possible without the help of the community.
Listen:
For the students receiving these bags in the days ahead, the impact will reach far beyond Christmas morning.
Those who wish to help can call the high school office at (870)-425-1224, email scaraway@mhbombers.com, or message the LT Thrift Store Facebook page.
