Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday recognized 42 Arkansas farm families as the newest inductees into the Arkansas Century Farm Program, including families from Baxter, Izard, Boone, Fulton, and Stone counties. The program honors farms that have been in the same family for at least 100 years, celebrating the lasting contributions of these local farms to the state’s agriculture and communities.

Local farms recognized by the Governor included in Baxter County, the Gilliland Farm established in 1892, in Fulton County, the Swope and Davis Farm established in 1917, in Boone County, the Tate and Holt Heritage Farm established in 1925. Izard County featured the Daughter Smith Family Farm established in 1899 and in Stone County, the Perry Farms established in 1912.

“This program highlights families who have kept our country fed, our state growing, and our communities strong,” Sanders said. “Our Century Farm inductees do more than just farm, they have a legacy of leadership that pays dividends across the state.”

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture launched the program in 2012, and it now recognizes 687 farms across all 75 counties. Agriculture Secretary Wes Ward said the Century Farms represent the backbone of Arkansas’ economy. “These families embody hard work, perseverance, and a commitment that spans generations,” Ward said.

Participation in the program is voluntary and free, with farms required to be at least 10 acres.

Applications for the next round of Century Farms will reopen in spring 2026. A full list of inductees and photos from the ceremony are available on the Department of Agriculture’s website.
