A Paragould woman is facing multiple felony charges after police said children in her care reported years of abuse.Kimberly Contos, 63, is being held without bond as she awaits her first appearance in district court. She is charged with seven counts of domestic battering in the second degree, a Class C felony, and seven counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Police first arrested Contos on Sept. 24 on suspicion of third-degree domestic battering of a minor. According to the affidavit, all other children were removed from her care following that arrest.

During follow-up interviews, the children “disclosed habitual abuse over multiple years by Contos,” Lt. Robert Sexton said.

After gathering “multiple pieces of corroborating evidence,” officers took Contos into custody again on Dec. 8. In a post-Miranda interview, Contos is said to have made incriminating statements.
