The $5 million bond for a former Conway doctor accused of rape and sexual assault remained unchanged following a bond reduction hearing Wednesday.

Dr. Guy Langley Peeples, 65, of Vilonia, surrendered his medical license after his Nov. 18 arrest and has been held at the Faulkner County Detention Center since. Bond conditions also require Peeples to wear an ankle monitor and surrender his passport.

Peeples faces felony rape and two counts of sexual assault stemming from a Nov. 10 investigation into his treatment of a 70-year-old patient the day before. A virtual attendant was present during the exam, authorities said.

Peeples’ attorney filed for a bond reduction on Dec. 8, citing his long-standing ties to the community and voluntary surrender after learning of the warrant while at an inpatient treatment facility in Mississippi.

Twentieth Judicial District Prosecutor Carol Crews said her office is preparing to take the case to trial. “We are continuing to work closely with the Conway Police Department on this ongoing investigation and look forward to presenting this case to a Faulkner County jury and trust that justice will be served,” Crews said.

Peeples is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 5, 2026.
