The week before Christmas break started with local basketball teams in action Monday evening.
Calico Rock was on the road as the Lady Pirates took on Maynard. The Lady Tigers sent Calico back home without any bounty as they took the win 53-43.
Out in Western Grove, Ozark Mountain hosted Quitman at home. The girls had a tough challenge as the visitor came in with a 13-1 record and added another win to their record finishing the game 59-43. The boys side had better luck sending Quitman home with a loss as the Bears won 56-40.
