
A Mountain Home woman was seriously injured when she was ejected through the sunroof of her vehicle during an accident caused by arguing with her passenger. The 18-year-old’s name has not been released by the Arkansas State Police (ASP). She was taken by ambulance to Baxter Health. A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old man from Norfork, was not injured.
According to the ASP report, the accident happened when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned multiple times and struck a bridge culvert. The driver was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected.
Due to her injuries, the driver could not give the trooper a written statement, but she said “We were in an argument and I ran off the road.”
The accident happened last Wednesday on Arkansas State Highway 201 in the Salesville city limits at 1:10 in the afternoon.
The driver was cited for careless and prohibited driving, not having a driver’s license or an expired driver’s license and not wearing a seat belt.
