The Marion County Election Commission is seeking county residents interested in serving as poll workers for the upcoming elections in 2026.

Free training sessions are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 17, beginning at 9:30 in the morning at the Marion County Annex Building, located at 105 S. Berry St. in Yellville, across from the old courthouse. Training is expected to last no more than four hours.

Commission officials say the training is required before working any election in 2026 and encourage those who are uncertain about serving next year to attend anyway.

To qualify, poll workers must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, residents of Marion County and lawfully registered to vote in Arkansas. High school students may also qualify if they are working toward a LEARNS Act community service requirement.

Poll workers assist with election operations and are paid for their service.
