Members of the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2025 are concluding the program with a class project focused on business retention and expansion at the Midway Industrial Park.
The group conducted a business retention and expansion, or BR&E, study by visiting the industrial park, meeting face-to-face with business leaders and distributing questionnaires to gather information on workforce needs, training practices and operations.
As part of the leadership program, the class visited KTLO Studios for a media training day, gaining hands on experience with interviews and public communication. While they were there, they were able to give details about their project.

As part of the project, the class also proposed adding uniform signage throughout the industrial park. Members said inconsistent signage made it difficult to identify businesses and navigate the area.

During the process, the group identified more than 100 acres of unused land near the airport that could be available for future industrial expansion. Their findings were compiled and presented to Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty.
The project also aimed to raise awareness of job opportunities at the industrial park, which some residents may not realize exists.
“If you live on the east side of Mountain Home, you may not even know the industrial park is out there,” said class member Bradley Ludwig. “We’re just trying to be a voice for it and let the community know what businesses and job opportunities are available.”
