Authorities have arrested a man accused of assaulting and threatening his girlfriend during a domestic disturbance Wednesday night.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residence on Fountainview Lane after a report of a physical domestic incident. When deputies arrived, they found the victim outside the home with a visible head injury and bleeding from her forehead.
Deputies reported that the victim said her boyfriend, 48-year-old Shane Dollarhide, assaulted her after an argument. She told authorities Dollarhide kicked in the door to the residence, threatened to kill her, dragged her outside by her clothing and struck her in the head. The victim also reported that Dollarhide threatened to “smash her head with a rock” and warned her not to tell anyone about the incident.
Deputies observed a large laceration on the victim’s forehead, blood on her hair and face, and a bloodstained area on the ground near a rock outside the home. The victim was unable to identify what she was struck with.
The victim was transported by Baxter Health for treatment of a head injury.
Dollarhide fled the scene on foot into nearby woods but was located and arrested the following day. He is charged with theft of property, second-degree battery (causing injury), first-degree terroristic threatening, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He is also being held on other agency holds. Bond is set at $10,705.
