Several area teams are earning statewide recognition in this week’s Arkansas Sports Media Boys’ High School Basketball Poll, as voted on by a panel of sports media from around the state for the week ending Jan. 3.
Jasper continues to be one of the area’s top performers, climbing to No. 2 in the Class 1A rankings with a 17-2 record. The Pirates trail only top-ranked Earle and remain firmly in the hunt as the season moves deeper into conference play. Lead Hill and Calico Rock also made their presence felt in Class 1A, with both teams receiving votes this week.
In Class 3A, Flippin checked in at No. 3 with a strong 19-4 record. The Bobcats remain among the state’s elite in their classification, sitting behind only Subiaco Academy and Osceola. Bergman followed closely at No. 4 in the Class 3A poll, posting a 20-5 mark and continuing to build momentum as the postseason approaches.
The Arkansas Sports Media Poll includes the Overall Top 10 along with the top five teams in each classification and is updated weekly throughout the season.
