
Missouri State freshman guard Trey Williams Jr. has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Williams averaged 12.7 points, three assists, and 2.3 three-pointers per game over three straight conference wins against Delaware, UTEP, and New Mexico State. His standout performance came Friday against UTEP, scoring 15 points and hitting 4-of-5 from three-point range. He followed that with 13 points, three triples, and four assists in Sunday’s home win over New Mexico State.
Williams is Missouri State’s first-ever C-USA men’s basketball weekly award winner.
The Bears also had standout performances from Kobi Williams, who scored a career-high 32 points against New Mexico State, including seven three-pointers, and 20 points against UTEP. Middle Tennessee’s Alec Oglesby was named C-USA Player of the Week.
