Brazile, Acuff power No. 15 Arkansas past Ole Miss

Trevon Brazile knocked down four clutch 3-pointers and Darius Acuff Jr. scored 26 points with nine assists as No. 15 Arkansas held off Ole Miss 94-87 on Wednesday night at The Pavilion.

Arkansas used two first-half runs to take a 42-32 lead into halftime and never relinquished the advantage, though the Rebels stayed within striking distance throughout the second half. The Razorbacks outscored Ole Miss 55-52 after the break to secure the road win.

Brazile hit back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the second half to stretch the lead to 13, but Ole Miss answered with a 7-0 run late. The Rebels pulled within four twice in the final two minutes before Acuff converted a floater in the lane with 35 seconds remaining. Brazile added a free throw with 24 seconds left to seal the victory.

Acuff had just six points in the first half but took over after intermission, scoring 20 second-half points while going 11 of 12 from the free-throw line. He also added six assists in the final 20 minutes.

Brazile finished with 18 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range and grabbed six rebounds. Billy Richmond III was perfect from the field, scoring 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting, while Meleek Thomas added 13 points and Karter Knox chipped in 10.

Ole Miss was led by Malik Dia and Ilias Kamardine with 16 points apiece. Kamardine scored 10 in the first half, and Eduardo Klafke added 11 second-half points without a miss for the Rebels.

Arkansas snapped a three-game losing streak to Ole Miss and improved its SEC series edge since joining the league. The Razorbacks shot 55 percent from the field in the first half and finished 19 of 26 at the free-throw line for the game.

Arkansas continues its road swing Saturday at Auburn. Tipoff is set for 5, with television coverage on ESPN.
