Five Red Wolves reach double figures as Arkansas State tops Troy

Arkansas State men’s basketball returned to the win column on Wednesday night, defeating Troy 86-74 inside First National Bank Arena. Five Red Wolves reached double digits, led by Christian Harmon with 18 points. Chandler Jackson added 17, Jaxon Ellingsworth 14, Matt Hayman 13, and Joey Chammaa 11.

Jalen Hampton led the team with seven rebounds while Hayman contributed a team-high four assists. A-State shot 44.8 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range, and 75.9 percent from the free-throw line. The Red Wolves dominated the boards 44-30 and outscored Troy 35-16 off the bench.

The Red Wolves opened the game on a 10-3 run and maintained a double-digit lead for much of the first half, taking a 45-32 advantage into intermission. Arkansas State extended its lead early in the second half with a 10-3 run and weathered a late push by Troy to secure the 12-point victory. Harmon finished the game with four three-pointers, keeping Troy at bay in the final minutes.

The win marked Arkansas State’s first of 2026. The Red Wolves conclude a four-game homestand on Saturday, Jan. 10, against Texas State at 2 p.m. inside First National Bank Arena. The game will air on ESPN+ with radio coverage on the EAB Red Wolves Sports Network and the team’s mobile app.
