Missouri men’s basketball comes up short on the road Saturday, falling 76-69 at Ole Miss.

The Tigers drop to 12-4 overall and 2-1 in SEC play, while the Rebels improve to 9-7 and 1-2 in conference action.

Senior Mark Mitchell leads Missouri with 20 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high seven assists, shooting 7-of-9 from the field. Jayden Stone adds 16 points, while Shawn Phillips Jr. and Trent Pierce chip in 12 and 10, respectively.

Missouri opens the game hot, hitting eight of its first 11 shots to build a 22-12 lead. Ole Miss responds with a 15-3 run as the Tigers go cold, committing seven turnovers during the stretch. The Rebels take a 37-36 lead into halftime.

The game stays tight throughout the second half, with neither team pulling away until Ole Miss uses a late 7-0 run to take control. Missouri closes within three but cannot get over the hump in the final minute.

Missouri shoots 49 percent from the field but struggles at the free-throw line, going 12-of-24. Ole Miss makes nine three-pointers and converts 15-of-19 free throws.

The Tigers return home Wednesday to host Auburn at Mizzou Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 on ESPN2.
