Several area teams earned recognition in this week’s Arkansas Sports Media Girls’ High School Basketball Poll, released for games through Jan. 10.
In Class 5A, Mountain Home remained among the state’s top teams, ranking No. 4 with 18 points. The Lady Bombers carry a 12-5 record, trailing only Farmington, Vilonia and Greene County Tech in the classification.
Class 3A featured multiple area programs. Mountain View ranked No. 2 with 42 points and holds a 17-3 record, continuing a strong season near the top of the standings. Melbourne followed at No. 4, earning 28 points with a 20-1 record, while Bergman checked in at No. 5 with 23 points and a 22-6 mark.
Class 1A saw Norfork receive votes but fall just outside the Top 5. The Lady Panthers remain in the mix as the season moves deeper into conference play.
