Burn bans issued for Fulton, Izard and Searcy counties

Due to the dry conditions and lack of rainfall, burn bans have been issued for Fulton, Izard and Searcy counties.Violating the burn ban is a misdemeanor that comes with a fine up to $2,500 and jail time up to one year.

The burn bans will remain in effect until sufficient rain falls.

The Arkansas Forestry Division website has the entire state listed in the moderate category of wildfire danger.

Twenty six of the state’s 75 counties are currently under burn bans.
