The 17th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks return to Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday night to host South Carolina, beginning a stretch of four home games over their next six outings to close out January.
Tipoff is set for 8 in Fayetteville, with television coverage on SEC Network. The game will also be carried on the Learfield Razorback Sports Network.
Arkansas enters the matchup at 12-4 overall and 2-1 in SEC play, while South Carolina comes in at 10-6 overall and 1-2 in conference action.
The matchup carries added familiarity for a pair of Razorbacks. Nick Pringle spent last season at South Carolina, where he averaged 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds. One of his best performances came against Arkansas, when he scored 18 points with nine rebounds and two steals in a Gamecock win.
Freshman Karter Knox will also face a familiar opponent, as his older brother, Kobe Knox, plays for South Carolina. Kobe, who began his career at Grand Canyon before spending two seasons at South Florida, has started all 16 games for the Gamecocks this season and is averaging 9.0 points per game.
Arkansas and South Carolina have met 42 times since both programs joined the SEC prior to the 1991-92 season. The Razorbacks hold a 24-18 advantage in the all-time series, including a 12-6 edge in games played in Fayetteville.
The Razorbacks snapped a three-game losing streak to the Gamecocks with a 72-68 win in last year’s SEC Tournament, though South Carolina earned a 72-53 victory in Columbia just 11 days earlier during the regular season.
Arkansas continues to rank among the national leaders in fastbreak points, sitting third at 20.4 points per game, and in 3-point shooting percentage, ranking 12th nationally at 39.2 percent, which also leads the SEC.
The Razorbacks will look to protect home court and build momentum as conference play continues Wednesday night against the Gamecocks.
