Baxter County Detention Center books 2,008 people in 2025

The Baxter County Detention Center booked a total of 2,008 people during calendar year 2025, a slight increase from 1,998 in 2024, according to facility records.

Bookings by law enforcement agency were as follows: 1,212 by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 538 by the Mountain Home Police Department, 99 by Gassville Police Department, 92 by Arkansas State Police, 15 by Norfork Police Department, 14 by Cotter Police Department, 14 by Arkansas Game and Fish, 10 by Arkansas Community Corrections, 5 by Lakeview Police Department, 3 by Arkansas State Parks, 3 by U.S. Marshal Service, 2 by the Drug Enforcement Agency, and 1 by the Arkansas Highway Police.

Of the total 2,008 bookings, 1,462 involved male arrestees and 546 involved female arrestees. Many included multiple charges. A sample of offenses shows 187 drug charges, 156 driving while intoxicated, 128 theft of property, 127 domestic violence charges including battery and assault, 40 non-domestic-related battery charges, 11 non-domestic-related assaults, 21 burglaries, and 10 sex crimes.

Felony charges were included in 547 bookings, while the remainder consisted solely of misdemeanor offenses.
