A former Mountain Home assistant football coach, who was the interim head coach for a short time, is the new head football coach at Lake Hamilton. Justin Bigham has been hired to replace Tommy Gilleran who announced last month he was stepping down as head coach.

Bigham attended school in Mountain Home off and on from the 4th through the 8th grades when his parents were coaching here. His dad Greg was on the football coaching staff and his mother Joy was a cheer coach.

Bigham graduated from DeWitt High School and was a three-year starter at Ole Miss at full back and tight end. He started his coaching career at a small private school in Louisiana. He then spent two years in Mountain Home starting in 2015, saying he learned a lot as part of the Bombers’ coaching staff.

When Joyce left for Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Bigham was named interim head coach. He was a finalist for the job that went to Bryan Mattox. Bigham stayed one more year before leaving for Rogers.

He was there two years before taking the head coaching job at Gentry for four years. He then was the head coach at Beebe one year before spending this past year as an assistant at Cabot.

Now at Lake Hamilton, Bigham says there is a lot to be excited about.
