A Baxter County man was arrested after he threatened to kill his mother and cut her phone line and also threatening to kill his ex-wife. His mother had taken out an order of protection against 41-year-old Jared Dwayne Alman of Norfork eight days prior to the incident.According to the probable cause affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told deputies Alman became upset because he wanted to bring his children to her house to stay, but she said no because he could not stay there. He became upset and tried to get his mother to lie to his ex-wife about where he would be staying to he could have his kids for the weekend. The ex-wife knew about the order of protection and Alman’s mother told the ex-wife he could not stay there and the ex-wife said he could not have the children since he did not have a place to stay.
The victim said that is when Alman’s temperament turned into “rage” and he started yelling and screaming and threatened to kill her. He told her she needed to leave the house or he would drag her outside and shoot her.
The victim said at some point during the altercation, Alman said he would cut the phone lines so she couldn’t call the police.
When deputies arrived, the determined Alman had in fact cut the phone lines. They also talked to the ex-wife who said Alman had threatened to kill her after she said she was not going to allow him to have the kids.
Alman is facing a felony count of terroristic threatening along with misdemeanor charges of interference with a communication device and violation of a protection order. He is free after posting $10,000 bond.
