CEO Mel Coleman: NAEC ready to respond as winter weather arrives

North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) officials say crews are prepared to respond to power outages as a winter system moves into the region.Chief Executive Officer Mel Coleman said NAEC has been preparing for several days, with both field and office personnel ready to respond as conditions allow.

He said outages are expected, but not on a system-wide scale and he asks members to be patient and be prepared.

Coleman emphasized that safety remains the cooperative’s top priority, both for employees in the field and for its members. He also said NAEC closely monitors the regional power grid and plans for potential stress during periods of high demand.

NAEC’s dispatch center is staffed 24 hours a day, with crews ready to respond as needed. Members can report service issues by calling 870-895-3221 or the automated system at 844-335-4461, by using the NAEC Outage Viewer online, or through the NAEC Mobile App.
