Bull Shoals City Council to discuss allowing golf carts on city streets

The Bull Shoals City Council will hold its regular meeting Thursday at City Hall.Old business will cover ordinance amendments related to 2026-01, rental of the meeting place, and contracts for trash pickup submitted by Methvin Sanitation and MSI.

New business items include discussion of a lawsuit filed by Phil Friese’s attorney regarding previous city employees, interim Mayor Carol Duss, and former Police Chief Brad Harper; approval of attorney coverage payments to the Arkansas Municipal League; and review of responses to the 2024 audit.

Council members will also consider Ordinance 2026-02 regarding water and sewer maintenance fees, updates on the sewer plant pump and lift station SCADA system installation, recommendations for the use of AI in city government, and Ordinance 2026-03 allowing golf carts on city streets.

The meeting will begin with the pledge of allegiance, roll call, and citizens’ comments on agenda items. Reports from the Planning & Zoning Commission and Parks Committee will also be provided.
