Tigers return home Saturday for SEC showdown with Mississippi State

The Missouri men’s basketball team returns home Saturday afternoon, welcoming Mississippi State to Mizzou Arena for a Southeastern Conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. with the game televised on SEC Network.

Missouri enters the contest with a 14-7 overall record and an even 4-4 mark in SEC play. The Tigers are looking to bounce back after a road loss at Alabama on Tuesday that leveled their conference record.

Senior Mark Mitchell leads Missouri offensively, averaging 17.4 points per game while also contributing 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Jayden Stone adds 14.9 points per game and shares the team lead in rebounding at 5.5 per contest. Jacob Crews is also a scoring threat, averaging 11.0 points. Anthony Robinson II directs the offense with a team best 3.4 assists per game, while Shawn Phillips Jr. anchors the defense with 1.5 blocks per game. As a team, Missouri is averaging 80.2 points while allowing 73.8.

Mississippi State comes in at 11-10 overall and 3-5 in SEC play. The Bulldogs are riding momentum from an 80-66 road win at LSU on Wednesday.

Josh Hubbard leads Mississippi State with 20.7 points and 3.6 assists per game. Jayden Epps provides additional scoring at 14.8 points per game, while Quincy Ballard controls the boards with a team high 6.8 rebounds. The Bulldogs average 77.8 points per game and surrender 77.9.
