Arkansans can now obtain a REAL ID at any of the state’s more than 130 Revenue Offices, with no wait required, the Department of Finance and Administration says.Starting February 1, the Transportation Security Administration will begin charging a $45 fee to travelers 18 and older who try to board a flight without a REAL ID. An active U.S. passport is also acceptable for air travel.

Arkansas residents can transfer the expiration date from their current license for $10, or pay $40 for a full eight-year REAL ID. The state has issued roughly 1.2 million REAL IDs since 2016, while 1.7 million people still have a standard license or ID.

Those seeking a REAL ID must bring proof of legal presence, identity, Social Security number, and residency. Appointments can be made online to avoid waiting, and an agent will be ready at the scheduled time.

A full list of Revenue Office locations and more information on required documents is available at the DFA website or AR MyDMV.
