A former member of the Mountain Home Hurricanes Swim Team, who was voted Board President last year, has been arrested for stealing over $11,000 in funds from the organization. Twenty-four-year-old Olivia Ann Norris of Mountain Home is facing three charges, two of them felonies.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department, Norris was voted Board President in March of last year. As president, she had access to the organization’s bank account and debit card.

After the swim season ended in July, the board attempted to have a meeting in August. However, despite repeated attempts by board members over several months, Norris did not plan or attend any meetings and did not respond to any board member’s requests regarding financial matters.

In November, the board held a meeting without Norris and reviewed the organization’s bank records. They identified multiple transactions that appeared inconsistent with a non-profit. They reported no receipts, invoices or supporting documentation had been provided for the transactions.

When Norris was questioned about the expenditures, she provided documents that board members determined to be altered and fraudulent. The documents did not accurately account for the transactions in question and failed to validate the expenses were for the non-profit organization.

Bank records show $11,486 in funds remain unaccounted for. Board members say the funds were either withdrawn or spent while Norris had access to the account and debit card.

Norris is charged with theft of property between $5,000 and $25,000 and fraudulent use of credit or debit cards between $5,000 and $25,000, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of falsifying business records. She free after posting $10,000 bond.
