Baxter County Quorum Court approves ordinances, resolutions

The Baxter County Quorum Court met in regular session Tuesday evening in the second-floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse, approving all ordinances and resolutions on the agenda.

Justices of the peace heard a presentation from Dan Hall on veteran suicide prevention and received a treasurer’s report from Jenay Mize.

Under new business, the court approved an ordinance appropriating $7,342 in fees and reimbursements collected in December to the sheriff’s office 2025 budget. Members also approved an ordinance accepting interlocal agreements between Baxter County and the cities of Cotter, Gassville and Norfork for the disbursement of district court accounting records and support of county-level programming, along with an emergency clause.

The court also approved resolutions confirming the reappointments of Tom Frase and Tink Albright to the Cotter/Gassville Rural Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners and the reappointment of Colby Pickens to the Baxter County Planning Board.
