Twin Lakes Playhouse Announces Open Auditions for “Play On!”
By Rick Abbot | Directed by Vance Jones

Twin Lakes Playhouse invites local performers to audition for its upcoming spring comedy, Play On! by Rick Abbot, directed by Vance Jones. This laugh-out-loud farce offers a behind-the-scenes look at a community theatre troupe struggling to stage a play despite endless rewrites and onstage disasters.

Audition Dates and Details
Auditions will be held at Twin Lakes Playhouse, 600 W. 6th Street, Mountain Home, AR, on:

  • Saturday, February 7, 2025, at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 8, 2025, at 6 p.m.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No roles are pre-cast, and both experienced and first-time actors are encouraged to participate. The Playhouse strives to make auditions relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. Those cast will be asked to join Twin Lakes Playhouse for a $15 membership fee.

About the Play
According to Director Vance Jones, Play On! is “a hilarious story of a theater group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty author who keeps revising the script.” Act I features a chaotic rehearsal, Act II a disastrous dress rehearsal, and Act III the final performance—where everything that can go wrong does. The result is a madcap, laughter-filled romp that celebrates the unpredictable magic of live theatre.

Performance Dates
Play On! will run from April 17 through May 3, with performances on:

  • Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.
  • Sundays at 2 p.m.
