Cardinals claim third baseman Bryan Ramos off waivers

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today they have claimed third baseman Bryan Ramos off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles.Ramos, 23, originally signed with the Chicago White Sox as an international free agent in July 2018. The right-handed hitter has appeared in 36 Major League games with Chicago over the past two seasons, making his Major League debut on May 4, 2024, against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium.

In 560 minor league games in the White Sox system, Ramos has totaled 80 career home runs, including 16 last season with Triple-A Charlotte.

A native of Havana, Cuba, Ramos was designated for assignment in January 2026 and was recently traded to Baltimore for cash considerations.

With the addition of Ramos, the Cardinals’ 40-man roster is now at 40 players. He has been assigned uniform No. 29.
