The public is invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early at a free astronomy program called “Love Among the Stars” on Monday at the Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center.

The event is co-sponsored by the North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists (NCAMN) and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. NCAMN members Jeff Hoeper and Ken Forman will co-host the program.
Heather Pitman, facility manager at the Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center, said while the center remains closed to the public during regular daytime hours for winter, staff are beginning to offer evening and Saturday programs.
Pitman gave details of the event and said the center offers an ideal location for viewing the night sky.

The nature center was created to preserve 421 acres of natural habitat and offers outdoor experiences as well as educational classes. Pitman says even though it might not seem conventional, the program showcases another way to enjoy the outdoors.
