The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration is warning residents about a scam phone call circulating statewide during tax filing season.

According to DFA officials, callers are falsely claiming to represent a “Tax Review Office” and telling recipients there is a missed tax filing or an issue with an existing account. The goal of the call, DFA says, is to pressure individuals into providing banking or personal financial information.

DFA reports receiving multiple complaints about the scam and reminds taxpayers that the department does not initiate contact by phone to request sensitive financial information. Officials urge Arkansans to remain cautious, hang up on suspicious calls, and avoid returning calls to unknown numbers, especially those demanding immediate action.
