Fulton County Detective, former Sharp County Sheriff dies after battle with cancer

A man with 43-years of law enforcement experience in north central Arkansas, including time as Sheriff in Sharp County and a detective in Fulton County, has died after a battle with cancer. Dale Weaver died Saturday at the age of 80.

Weaver began his law enforcement career in Independence County. He would later work in Sharp County, including eight years as sheriff from 2003-2011. He served as the Task Force Commander for the 16th District Drug Task Force, one of the first drug task forces in the state.

Weaver joined  the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in 2022 according to Sheriff Jake Smith.

Weaver is survived by his wife and three sons.

Funeral arrangements for Dale Weaver are being handled by the Qualls Funeral Home in Batesville.
