A public political forum featuring candidates for Baxter County sheriff and Baxter County judge was held Wednesday morning at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, hosted by KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot.
The forum was broadcast live on KTLO-FM 97.9 and streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Candidates for county judge opened the event, followed by the sheriff candidates. Each participant was given equal time for opening and closing statements and responded to a series of questions submitted by the public and presented by moderator Heather Knight Loftis.
The sheriff’s race marks the first potential change in the office in 21 years, with early voting for the March 3 Preferential Primary set to begin soon.
Sheriff candidates included Henry Campfield, Brian Davis and Mark Hollingsworth. In the county judge race, incumbent Kevin Litty and challenger Eric Payne outlined their priorities and answered questions on key county issues.
Anyone who missed the live broadcast can watch a replay of the forum on YouTube at KTLOStreaming.
