The Mountain Home American Legion baseball program will host its 25th annual Texas Hold’em tournament fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 21, to help support the team’s summer expenses.
KTLO News spoke with Head Coach Lester White, who explains winning can be expensive.
Listen:
The tournament will feature Texas Hold’em only. The entry fee is $100, with rebuys available for $50. Play is expected to last about an hour and a half, with an add-on option offered later in the event. An early-bird cash drawing is scheduled for 12:30, with additional giveaways before tournament play begins around 1.
First place will receive a $2,000 Visa gift card, with additional payouts based on the number of participants. If at least 80 players enter, organizers plan to award prizes through 10th place. Participants will also receive a free meal, with lunch and appetizers provided.
White encouraged community members to attend and support the program, saying all proceeds go directly to the American Legion teams.
Tryouts for the upcoming season are scheduled for May 15.
