Mountain Home Swim Sees Strong Results in Conference Meet

The Mountain Home Bombers turned in a strong showing at the 5A Conference Swim Meet, with the Bomber boys finishing as Conference Runner-Up and the Lady Bombers placing third overall.

It was a record-breaking day for freshman Callie Kohler, who set a new school record in the 200 Individual Medley, breaking a mark that had stood for 13 years.

On the girls’ side, Avery Haney, Annabelle Horn, Peeka Traver and Callie Kohler captured the 200 medley relay title. Kohler also claimed conference championships in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Peeka Traver earned first-place finishes in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

For the boys, Benny Vetter, Ajay Reiss, Josh Worman and Bryce Litty won the 200 medley relay. Vetter was a double individual champion, taking gold in the 50 freestyle, where he also posted a personal best, and the 100 freestyle.

Several swimmers earned All-Conference honors including Josh Worman in the 100 butterfly, the girls’ 200 freestyle relay team of Haney, Horn, Traver and Kohler, and the boys’ 200 freestyle relay team of Vetter, Reiss, Worman and Litty.

Josh Worman and Tyler Edwards each recorded personal bests in the 200 freestyle. Levi Kaspar posted a personal best in the 50 freestyle, while Vetter added a personal best in the same event. Annabelle Horn and Peeka Traver each turned in personal bests in the 100 freestyle, and Tyler Edwards notched a personal best in the 100 breaststroke.
